Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience Enhancement
Greet guests warmly upon arrival and ensure they feel welcome throughout their visit.

Student Safety Oversight
Monitor the premises to ensure a safe and secure environment for all students and guests.

Act as a point of contact for students in need of assistance or support, offering guidance and reassurance as needed.
Support and Collaboration
Collaborate with other team members to support various operational tasks as needed, including but not limited to event setup, administrative duties, and inventory management.
Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate efforts and ensure seamless transitions between shifts.
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in assisting with different aspects of lounge operations as required.
Private Tutor
Our team of Private Tutors offers one-on-one academic support for students who attend the lounge. Tutors work one-on-one and with small groups of students, every Monday to Friday, and spend up to 1.5 hours per day with each student.
Tutors assist students with their academic needs, offer guidance, and serve as positive role models. Tutors are expected to work 3 hours per day, which is equal to 1.5 hours per student or two students per day. Our Group Study Sessions are held on Mondays Wednesdays or Fridays, for up to 3 hours, with up to 5 students per group per session.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework in Education or a related field is desirable).
Prior tutoring or teaching experience, especially in working with school-age children, is beneficial.
Strong knowledge and proficiency in academic subjects, including math, science, English, and social studies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students, parents/guardians, and program staff.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.

Our Youth Influencers are crucial in running daytime lounge operations and supporting the delivery of all education and enrichment events and programs at TBE Homework Lounge.
YI’s, along with our collaborators and partners assists with running programs, ensuring a high-quality experience for the students, and supporting the organization's mission and goals.

Previous experience working with children in an educational or youth development setting is desirable.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain certification).

The Student Life Coach will work closely with students to develop personalized strategies for success, including time management, study habits, and goal setting. They will also provide support in navigating the challenges of student life, helping students build resilience and confidence.

Food Safety and Hygiene: Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met is crucial in any kitchen. You'll need to follow proper food handling procedures, maintain cleanliness in your work area, and adhere to health and safety regulations.
Customer Service: While your primary focus is on food preparation, you may also have some interaction with students, especially since the kitchen is open or visible to patrons. Providing friendly and efficient service, answering questions about the menu, and accommodating special requests are all part of delivering a positive lounge experience.
Inventory Management: Keeping track of inventory levels and shopping for food when supplies need to be replenished is often part of the job. This helps ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly without running out of essential ingredients.
